The Spelling Scheme

Developed by Pat Schaefer, the Spelling Scheme provides a sound-based approach to learning how to spell in the English language. This approach reflects current educational research that indicates children learn best when they focus on words they have misspelled rather than memorizing lists of words. The Spelling Scheme offers an individualized and customized format, in which students develop their own spelling dictionaries. It is organized around the alphabet and the eight sounds not symbolized in the alphabet. The Scheme includes word lists covering frequently misspelled words, homonyms, puzzle words, and rules. The Spelling Scheme is appropriate for elementary-age students and for people who are learning English as a second language. Two versions are available: a teacher's edition and a student's edition.
Teacher's Edition: $45.00 + shipping and handling
Student's Edition: $22.50 + shipping and handling
