7. Staff Retreats
Teaching is hard work. We need to refresh ourselves, interact
with our colleagues, take time to brainstorm, and take
opportunities to play together, to celebrate together. Lake
Country Institute retreats offer these opportunities. Inspirational
sessions focusing on Montessori's vision enable staff to work
together, accomplishing needed tasks and building community
at the same time. Learn from each other and give yourselves
permission to work hard and to play hard. Facilitators can help
mediate conflict, focus the discussion, and add outside voices
of wisdom and experience. You will leave refreshed, your
batteries recharged, with new ideas to try and a renewed sense
of the power of this work.
